Community

At Bethune Lane Dairy we strongly believe rural communities are the backbone of Australia and are proud to belong to our local Lake Boga community as well as the wider Murray-Mallee region.

Our region is a thriving oasis that produces a wide variety of food and resources for the entire nation and beyond. Our neighbouring paddocks are filled with a variety of produce from fruit trees and grapevines to vegetable and cereal crops as well as being home to grazing lambs and of course, dairy cattle.

Nestled beyond Bethune Lane Dairy is the jewel in our community’s crown, the lake itself! Lake Boga is the aquatic playground of our region and home of many water sports including sailing, fishing and water skiing. Lake Boga also holds an important place in history due its role as a repair and service depot for the Catalina flying boats used in World War Two. The Flying Boat Museum is an excellent tribute and resource.

From Winlaton and its bordering banks of the Little Murray River to the Catalina and the blue, sparkling waters of Lake Boga, we felt it was only fitting to name our range of artisan cheese products in honour of our region.

Whilst we are blessed to farm in a region with rich, productive soil, we are most grateful to belong to a community of kind, hardworking and honest people. We are very proud that the majority of our employees are from within our local community. It is a privilege to have such great local talent at our disposal to support us on both the farm and in the Milk Enhancement Centre (the MEC).
